People often ask me why I decided to pursue a nurse practitioner degree. I've heard the argument that nowadays mental health nurse practitioners are in demand. A lot of people are experiencing mental health issues because of covid. Although a psych nurse practitioner is a very challenging and rewarding path, my decision to pursue a family nurse practitioner degree was the best one for me.

I believe that as a family nurse practitioner I will see a diverse client base. Everyone from pediatrics to geriatrics. I like to be flexible and knowledgeable about about health care issues across the lifespan. I would also like to volunteer in clinics across the border. So an FNP Program works best for me.

My advice to anyone who wants to be nurse practitioner is to do your homework. Interview NP's and ask questions. Ultimately the decision is yours.
